Hope my friend's works as well. >=20 > Joe W On a weight related topic, the cheap replacement laptop chargers from China= often have woefully undersized transformers in them to cut down costs, and= a big chunk of steel glued into the case to make it feel heavy enough to b= e real. Nothing really surprises me from China these days; lowest possible= cost is the overriding factor for commercial goods, regardless of quality,= longevity or even basic functionality. Sadly this continues to be driven = by Western culture. More worrying than the fake Li-Ion cells is the quality of some of the Li-I= on chargers. I bought a cheap charger for 2x18650 cells knowing that the c= harging circuit would be junk; I simply bought it as a reasonably robust ba= ttery holder to use with a well proven hobby charger. Out of interest I tr= ied it on some old laptop cells with a multimeter connected across the batt= ery, outside on a stone floor. Once the cells reached 4.3 volts I gave up = waiting for the charging current to cut off, and needless to say the PCB is= now in the bin.
