Since what you want is a time hack to set your clock,
you only need one photosensor.

And since the object of the exercise is pointing the array
at the sun, perhaps dispense with time-keeping altogether?

A daily time hack from a gnomon, plus building the Equation
of Time into your algorithm might be sufficient.
