Importing is distressingly easy [tm].

1. Hardest step - find a seller who you trust completely at the $ value you
are prepared to spend per order and whose  judghement on product quality
you trust and whose general integrity you trust.
I've done that, through various happenstances. How it will work out is TBD

They are a small company who make mainly small PV panels but can do their
own large ones or buy in as seems best.
Competent. Friendly. Adequate English (better than most)
Visted a few weeks ago.
~=3D 30 minutes train ride North and 30 minutes taxi ride West fron central
Shenzhen. STILL solidly built iup with light industrial at that distance.
Took bus back to rail - about 1hr 20m. Industry and light commercial and
shops all the way.

2. All the rest.

Establish requirement.
Ask for quote.
This will be $US0.65/Wattmp + shipping + any handling + insurance if
required.
Shipping is a noticeable part of panel cost BUT not the major part by any
means.
Send $.
LARGE box will arrive on local wharf 4 to 8 weeks later.

3. Deal with local customs, wharf clearance etc OR use a local freight
managing company - the latter can be very worthwhile.

MUCH pain is removed by successfully achieving 1. above.

$US0.65/ Wattmp is medium to slightly high end of range. 55 cents doable
with haggling - you want to know your stuff and your seller and ... .
Above is new warranteed panels with underwriter warranty. by an insurance
company. Never called on so far says seller.

You can get down to under $US0.30/Watt_mp I'm told with no warranty etc.
That is from one of the many many small failed businesses.

The very biggest companies are in deep trouble and major closures expected
very soon.
