Don't waste your time. You can deal with AT&T directly. The new equipment and installation charges typically are waived as long as you sign up for their bundle, then unbundle after 45 days or so. You end up paying for a month or two of full charges. >=20 > The gist of it seems to be a razzle-dazzle High Speed Fiber Optic bla=20 > bla bla but users don't seem to be enthused about it. I have it. It's fast and fairly consistent. The key is to make sure that you do not bundle in their TV service which cuts into the bandwidth to the tune of a 7MB/S drop per receiver. The raw pipe doesn't have this problem. I just ran a quick speedtest. 17 MB/S up 1.5 MB/S down. >=20 > The operator suggested that my dsl line would soon be disconnected; this= =20 > just sounds like more boiler-room operation to me. It does. I dealt with AT&T directly. I also had the opportunity to put my wireless and internet on a single bill. >=20 > Does anyone here have any experience with any of this? Not with the cold call, but with the service. If it's just internet, the performance and price actually works. Leave the rest of it alone, even though AT&T will continually try to get to sign on for their TV service after you cancle it.
