That 20 RS-232 switch looks very good!  And not expensive
Like you said maybe won't work...

"Handshaking lines are strapped for no flow control (always on). Pin 7 RTS
& 8 CTS are strapped together."

I'm going to test a RX/TX cable just to make sure but with that diagram my
hopes are almost gone.
I have found people talking about using ethernet cable to send RS232 data
over long distances. Already buying DB25-RJ45 and DB9-RJ45 adaptors.


Cascade of regular switches is easy and cheap but not a nice looking.
People going to say that I'm too lazy! hahaha.  (If it was on my house for
sure it would be the way out).
