Asunto: Re: [OT] What does electricity/gasoline cost around the world? Diesel in Southern Queensland Australia is between AU$ 1.48 and 1.55 /litre Unleaded standard is between AU$ 1.42 and 1.49 / Litre - price changes twice daily and can vary by 10c / lt between towns. There is also Premium unleaded and the part alcohol/part petrol or diesel stuff. Electricity is 23.071 cents per kWh for standard use, it is 15.595 cents per kWh for 'controlled' appliances which basically means hot water heaters add on to that an access charge per quarter of $23.55 plus 10% GST to the total amount. There are off peak meters, which have a different pricing structure and there is also alternative pricing structures for the controlled supply (basically the standard price provides for availability of supply over 18 hours of the day but the electricity company decides when during that 18 hour period they will switch it on and how long for). Off peak metering is guaranteed to be provided for 8 hours, between 10 pm and 7 am. Many years ago petrol in the UK was sold using a star rating 5 star =3D 10= 1 octane, 4 star =3D 98, 3 star =3D 95 and two star (Reliant Robins, Heinkels= and motor bikes) 92 octane. This was pre unleaded, it was also sold as Standard/Regular, Premium and Super.
