These days the compiler technology for small chips has advanced to the poin=
t where a compiler can often produce much better code than a person produci=
ng assembler - unless it is a free version of a Hitech compiler, in which c=
ase the code produced is reputed to be terrible although I did hear a story=
 that they had changed it so it did do a sort of clear up of the many jumps=
 that it seemed to produce.
