Hi Jon, I don't remember seeing anyone suggesting JALv2 as the language/compiler yet, so I'll be the first to suggest using no IDE at all and using JALv2 as your compiler. It's free and there are libraries for everything. Since you are using a third-party programmer, the IDE "experience" won't be seamless, so why bother with MPLAB?
