Right now, I've got to cut aluminum framing (patio-screen > framing) for a trade-show display and about to research which blade > (same I bet) to use for that. http://www.irwintools.co.nz/tools/circular-saw-blades/aluminium-series-alum= inium-cu tting-blades I recently bought a 10" one, 100 teeth. Higher number of teeth suit thinner= =20 materials. Around NZD90 =3D USD70. Nice cut on 3 & 4.5mm thick ali extrusio= n,=20 using mitre saw, time will tell how long it lasts. Clamp workpiece solidly = on both=20 sides of cut... the cut off piece easily gets dragged back into the blade w= ith severe=20 consequences, unlike wood that usually just sits there and rubs harmlessly. Probably ok for cutting plastics as well, though typically I use a carborun= dum blade=20 for that, doesn't grab at all. --=20 Brent Brown, Electronic Design Solutions 9 Titoki Place, Pukete, Hamilton 3200, New Zealand Ph: +64 7 849 0069 Fax: +64 7 849 0071 Cell: +64 27 433 4069 eMail: brent.brown@clear.net.nz --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
