Obviously not a laser, but within some limitations, similar capabilities. I was considering making one, and I tripped on the EGGBOT... Really nice part about eggbot is it's open source HW and SW and they have a plugin for Inkscape (also free) that makes it literally draw line on screen, click plot and the steppers are moving.
