Digikey vs Mouser. There are some lines that are exclusive to each....ADI = is not carried by Mouser, but Digikey does. CUI uses Digikey exclusively u= nless your talking larger qty's then you can go direct. However Mouser now= carries Recom. Digikey is more expensive most the time for small qty's, but can be very co= mpetitive on larger numbers. Shipping USPS (that I often do so I can get = Sat deliveries) Digikey seems to be a day faster. Most my orders to Mouser= are either in the $50 range or $250+ range. They are now shipping to me e= verything UPS 2 day at no additional cost, even tho I put in USPS. They wi= ll also ship for less to a home address using UPS to the post office...the = post office then deliveries, but may take an extra day or so. =20 I guess Im partial to Mouser as I've been using them for maybe...25 years n= ow? -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of= glen wiley Sent: Tuesday, October 09, 2012 6:17 AM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: Re: [OT] Mouser Over the years I have settled on Digikey as almost exclusive source for com= ponents. They don't get everything right and don't always have exactly what I need, = but I have found that the time and pain that comes from sourcing from multi= ple vendors just isn't worth it at prototype volumes. I have only had 1 order jacked up from Digikey out of tens of thousands of = dollars in parts shipped. They made good on that order quickly and without= complaint. Granted, I am domestic US so the shipping trials haven't been on my radar.
