Over the years I have settled on Digikey as almost exclusive source for components. They don't get everything right and don't always have exactly what I need, but I have found that the time and pain that comes from sourcing from multiple vendors just isn't worth it at prototype volumes. I have only had 1 order jacked up from Digikey out of tens of thousands of dollars in parts shipped. They made good on that order quickly and without complaint. Granted, I am domestic US so the shipping trials haven't been on my radar.
