Thanks for the suggestion.  Backlight LED doesn't actually cost me=20
any power at all, so long as the LED is floating so that I can put it=20
in series with the dropping resistor that feeds the 5V zener diode.

But it is a little larger than I have room for at this point.

Can you suggest a supplier?
