Do the files show up as zero bytes in Windows Explorer?

Check in MSConfig and Windows Services (win button + r type in=20
Services.msc/config.sys)  and either untick (config) the startup items for=
=20
the media viewers or disable their services in Services and reboot.

You might need to change file ownership to yourself, though if this was the=
=20
problem you wouldn't be able to run them.
