Hi, I've made up a load cell of sorts with two active 350 ohm strain gauges, on= e in tension and the other in compression, and a couple of dummy gauges to complete the bridge. I'm looking at making an amplifier for this. My stress calcs show that I will need about a gain of 800 to produce a 4V output signal. Loads will be static. I've seen designs for both the AMP04 amplifier http://dkc3.digikey.com/us/images/datasheet.gif and the INA125 amplifier http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ina125.pdf This is for a 1 off device for personal use and will be battery powered. The AMP04 is more expensive at $10.70 while the INA125 is $6.25. Spec wise they look similar to my untrained eye. Is there any reason that I shouldn't go for the cheaper amp? Any gotchas that I should know about?
