Update: Finally I went with the Namecheap, also bought the shared hosting from them -- thought it was a good idea to keep things in one place. Things are ok, I could transfer the site fine, db and php files etc are up and running -- however, it seems much slower than the previous provider. I guess that's what you get for 1/3 price. It was $47 per year for 3 domains which free whois protection and a shared hosting with the bare minimum they have (25GB storage and unlimited download -- which is unlimited as slow enough not to exhaust their system, anyway...) I had not got much time for the selection as the 5 day notice I have got, but maybe I will talk to them how to increase the speed.
