But you bring up an interesting possibility.=20 Since if the power is on there would be considerable amperage flowing,=20 would a toroid transformer made with numerous turns of a light gauge=20 (maybe say 20 ga.) wire, and then the LED and a reversed diode work. The=20 nameplate says 240 volt 4500 watts. But that's wouldn't say the power is=20 on, just that current is flowing. The LED, capacitor, reverse diode, fuse, and resistor seem easier.
