When I was a kid I made the exact same reasoning. Boom!!

I learnt a new thing of the datasheets: the reverse breakdown voltage.

As it nearly exploded in front of my eyes, I may have learnt more things
too.. but fortunately I didn't and remained ignorant about those issues. *g=
