would you like small compact, portable, what about vibrations ?. You can?t ignore amount of data, if you handle a lot of data you may find there is no processor available. -----Mensaje original----- De: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu]En nombre de Jason White Enviado el: Viernes, 17 de Agosto de 2012 12:19 p.m. Para: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Asunto: [EE] external memories vs internal ? Hello, this is a very general question -I wonder however, what is the general opinion on using external memories. Has anyone used a serial ram with their projects as opposed to using a larger processor ? What is normally the preferred method of overcoming memory limitations ? (volatile and non-volatile) For instance, you building a project that stores and acts on large sets of user data, would one design a project around a processor that contained enough memory to store the user data or would add an external memory ? I realize that this is largely depended on cost and the amount of data, but if you were to ignore those things -What is preferred ? -- Jason White -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
