Great! I hadn't realised that MPLAB X would do that. I'll buy a PicKit 3
then. Thanks for the help.

Hmm, now I have to work out either a good workflow with Emacs and MPLABX
or find some way to get the nasty Netbeans IDE to allow C-a, C-e, C-k
etc....
