Yes they do.  The dual clutch gearboxes are very clever bits of kit - each =
clutch effectively controls a separate gearbox holding the odd or even gear=
s, so the most likely next gear can be automatically pre-selected by the co=
ntroller.  Engaging the next gear is then as simple as disengaging one clut=
ch and engaging the next, making for extremely fast shifts.  I drove a Skod=
a Octavia turbo diesel with a DSG box recently, and it was a revelation com=
pared to the old "slush boxes" which I have never enjoyed using.  Obviously=
 things get expensive when new clutches are required.  The DSG boxes for hi=
gher powered cars tend to use wet multi-plate clutches BTW, though smaller =
city cars have system with single plate dry clutches.
