I have a decent fry pan that I use on a gas hob, works very well.  I=20
have never needed to rework any joints except for where I didn't apply=20
enough paste.

This method works great for anything down to the SSOP FTDI chips, I have=20
also used it for a few QFN parts such as the Freescale pressure sensor=20
and a Memsic accelerometer.
