Mark, Not to mess up a fun project but--- You might try the toner transfer=20 method whereby you print on special paper with a laser printer and then=20 iron on (transfer) the image to the second surface. Here is a Pulsar product that has worked well for me for printed circuit=20 work. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/50-1101/182-1003-ND/3386 This particular system uses a water soluble layer to print on so after=20 transferring it is easy to soak off but that may hurt the wood? I did=20 some experiments with release paper from label stock that did not need=20 water - kinda worked but I settled on the Pulsar stuff for my circuit=20 board work. As far as optics for your scanner burner goes, perhaps the optics in the=20 laser printer are what you want, replace the laser with a more powerful=20 one of about the same wavelength. If the speed is too high, perhaps you=20 can figure out how to slow the mirror motor. Sound like a fun project.=20 Be careful with your eyes!
