Hi all, Well, you can really tell when I'm trying to squeeze in a quick project eh? Sorry for the extra traffic! As you may have guessed from reading my posts about small batteries, I'm trying to make a project...small. That means the Molex .1" headers that I normally use for just about everything are just too large. I'd like to switch to something surface mount, and with a smaller pitch (as connectors seem to be a part that for a given connection pitch, take up more board real estate when switched to SMT). I've been eying a couple of of other Molex products, namely this style: http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/53261-0571/WM7623CT-ND/699110 which is part of the PicoBlade series. Also this one from the PicoSPOX series: http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/87438-0443/WM7648CT-ND/699162 My applications are low volume, so a few cents here or there isn't a huge deal. I do have to assemble the units by hand (reflow soldering though), which means I'll need to assembly the cable ends by hand as well, so I need to be able to buy the plastic part as well as the contacts that live within it. Height is also an issue, so right angle units are probably preferable. Digikey is my preferred vendor, so availability there is a plus. I'd be looking for 2 pin, 4 pin, and 5 pin. So, do you have a favourite diminutive connector? I'd love to hear about it= ! Thanks!
