Did you read the bit where it said all 3 are based on ARM? The Broadcom chip has an ARM processor, and I see nothing to suggest that the other two systems are any more likely to be completely open than RPi is. I still don't get what the big deal is - with RPi you can develop apps based on Linux, with the other two apps based on Android. You don't need to have details of all the nuts and bolts underneath - if you do then maybe you need to get something different. Personally my experience of these platforms leads me to think that developing for RPi will be a huge amount simpler.
