A nice thread ... thanks all. Nobody mentioned jedit.org, so I will. :) Written in Java, which means=20 it takes a few seconds longer than native apps to open, but OTOH it runs=20 in OSX and Linux as well as Windows. Free, open source, etc. Like it a lot, have used for 5+ years. Worth=20 spending some time checking out if it sounds interesting. I tend to use it in parallel with whatever IDE(s) are running, i.e. IAR,=20 MPLAB, VC++, TI CCS. There are no problems with overwritten file=20 changes, everything is smart enough to notice files it has open have=20 changed externally.
