Notepad++ too, and it also support Macintosh line endings also, and can
convert files from one format to another.

Besides, it has a wide range of plugins, such as Hexadecimal Editor
(Notepad++ opens any type of file, even binary), File Compare (diff),
Spell Checker and much more.
It also does syntax-highlighting for more than 50 file-types/languages,
including XML, SQL, shell-scripts, C, HTML, COBOL (!!! :) )and also
user-defined.

And all that just scratches the surface. I would really love if it were
written using a cross-platform framework, like wxWidgets.
