Thanks for the comments. :) I didn't find any 775 socket Asus boards out there. Was trying to save=20 on not buying a 3G dual core CPU, and 4G memory, which might be around=20 $200 (just did a rough search, without pinning down exact parts). I do=20 have middle/upper range ATI PCI-e16 video cards with HDTV in and out.=20 Otherwise computer is current with (2) SATA 300G HDD, and energy=20 efficient PSU. I usually spend some money every year upgrading. Don't=20 need super performance, but do need flexibility on I/O. Even use the=20 parallel printer ports with printers that have parallel and USB or=20 RS-232. One cable goes to one computer other to another that's networked=20 mostly. Then if a computer isn't available for some reason, the other=20 one is set up ready to go. Was really hoping for something USA made, but=20 that's rare. Did just find at Compuvest a new/pull Asus motherboard fro $56 that=20 appears to accept my CPU and memory. Would have to dig deeper and=20 confirm that. Also it's a Micro ATX, another thing to check, and no=20 RS-232. Need that to talk to a PLC for the standby generator, could pick=20 up a couple of RS-232 to USB convertors, more monkey business. Tis one=20 might be a candidate for a TV server that's another project. http://www.compuvest.com/Desc.jsp?iid=3D1667223 On 4/11/2012 12:58 PM, V G wrote: > On Wed, Apr 11, 2012 at 10:23 AM, M.L. wrote: > > =20 >> Carl, I always look at Asus motherboards first.
