That was where I had got to and have looked at Atiny range and MSP430. Just=
 wanted to make sure I hadn't missed any other contenders. As far as I can =
tell so far, an MSP420 device bit-banging will take a bit more power than t=
he PIC especially if I can make the PIC sleep while the I2C hardware does i=
t's thing. Still looking into that.
