Yes, but,ignoring RPN for a moment, surely the 'convention' is that a=20
bracketed sum is performed first and then depending on the incarnation (of=
=20
compiler) the next sequence would be to read the remaining operators with=20
the same precedence in left to right order.

In which case as my trusty Casio states, the answer is 1, only if the=20
division is performed first does the result come to 9 as per other=20
algorithms.
