It is basically a big ARM chip (with video hardware), RAM, some=20
boot-flash, and a memory card. It runs Linux, but probably not on par=20
(speedwise)  with your current desktop. AFAIK (and what interests me=20
most) is that you can also use it bare-metal, as a low-cost processor=20
board, using every language that can target ARM (uncluding all GCC=20
variations).
