You can do quite a bit with very simple means - Perhaps
someone you know has a Trangia alcohol stove ?

If you try this it's not a bad idea to have the burner sitting
on something that will contain the spill if you manage to
knock it over. They get quite hot, as well.

You want methylated, not isopropyl. Outdoors, of course...
