From Dangerous Prototypes.com: MakiBox A6 - The $300 Desktop 3D Printer=20 $300 plus $50 worldwide shipping buys you a fully-enclosed 3D printer=20 complete with motors, drivers: everything but the computer. They=20 don't say whether they include a starter supply of ABS filament. This is a 'Kickstarter' type project which currently has 38 out of=20 100 supporters (I'm number 38) and has raised $15,575 so far. The demo video looks pretty convincing=20 =20 and I like the thought that has gone into the design. He starts off=20 with a basic RepRap design but borrows heavily from MakerBot and others. He's located in Hong Kong and a quick Google search of his name=20 doesn't show up anything bad. So: I plopped down $475 for a kit plus=20 5KG of assorted plastic filament (includes shipping). I'd be interested in hearing about anyone else's opinion about this unit.
