Useful table listing actual manufacturers of lead acid batteries and
the brand names which they are sold under.

At a quick glance, some manufacturers seem o be very underrepresented
in matching brands.
For example Yuasa are one of the more competent lead acid battery
makers but have only about 8 brand names listed and about another 8
for their Exide-Yuasa brand

Of interest is that the very respected Panasonic appear as
Matsushita's brand (as expected) BUT also
Tai Kwong-Yokohama (Malaysia), http://www.tkyoko.com/ or
http://www.malaysiabattery.com/
are shown as "some Panasonic".

Some such as Johnston controls and GNB appear under a vast array of brands.
AND they say

    Exide recently purchased GNB and Johnson Controls purchased Optima
(Optima have ~10 brands shown).
