Today I passed a moderate sized hardware shop that I seldom frequent, and so dropped in on the off chance that they may have miscellaneous bits of hardware that would prove useful in roles unenvisaged by their creators, as one does. In this instance, miscellaneous paraphernalia that might be able to be pressed into service as part of prototype miniature wind turbines featured on my hoped for list. The shop appeared reasonably well stocked and it suddenly occurred to me that they may have a nut that I needed for another task. The shop assistant was probably in her 30's to 40's. So, I asked her if they sold "AF" nuts & bolts. I could instantly tell from the look on her face that she thought that I was inquiring after Bilateral Vogon torsion clamping bifurcators*. They had none. I wonder what else we, on average, may have no concept of every having existed, in another 10 years time? Russell * Without quotes Gargoyle tries hard up until "clamping". Add bifurcators and it knows nothing. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
