To refresh what I am looking for: Have a PIC microcontroller that=20 outputs RS-232 ASCII string of characters including (3) 4 digit numbers=20 when receiving a specific 6 digit command string. I'd like to=20 automatically, say 1 or 2 seconds interval, send the command string, and=20 display the output formatted on a laptop. I have been doing one at a=20 time command with Realterm, but wanted to automate so my hands could be=20 free to adjust things. If I could input it into The free CPSTD looks very interesting very close to what I need, but=20 that has a 40 day trial period. I am thinking long term, with a small=20 instruction sheet, a moderate computer savvy person could implement the=20 work. I like the idea of setting up a keyboard interrupt, then most any=20 application would work. Thanks again. :) On 1/14/2012 4:12 PM, MarcoG wrote: > > I'm not really sure of your requirements, maybe this old application do > something similar? > (the "standard" version is free) > > http://www.programbl.net/cpsv3/cpsstd.html > http://www.programbl.net/dochome/rs232-cps-plus-pro/send-commands-regular= -intervals-timer-sampling.html > > > regards, > Marco > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Carl Denk" > To: "Microcontroller discussion list - Public." > Sent: Friday, January 13, 2012 3:25 PM > Subject: Re: [EE] Importing Com Port to Open Office Calc > > > =20 >> I am wanting to make a test setup for a PIC PCB that has 2 pressure >> sensors and a temperature sensor with RS-232 communications output.
