I am involved in a university research project for which we need 50 PCBs made and populated. The boards are two-sided, silkscreened on one side, through-hole, and about 200 components (includes ICs, SIP and DIP resistors= , LEDs, 7-segment LEDs, 40-pin ZIF, etc). =20 We had the last batch manufactured in China about two years ago, but their price is now up by about 60%. We also had a 35% failure rate out of the box (less than quality parts, excessive heat, untrimmed leads, .) so they are o= n the experienced, but last-resort, list. =20 I seem to recall that sometime over the past few years someone posted about a mfr in NY that seemed to do pretty good work at a reasonable price (may have even been populating by hand), and another in North Carolina. Unfortunately, I neglected to save that information. =20 Not a great rush, but we need 50 by mid-May for our summer classes. =20 I would appreciate knowing who you think is doing a good job for a reasonable (not cheap) price. =20 Thanks, Richard Seriani =20 =20 =20 --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
