::Is the circuit with the TIPs a very simple one - say just one toroid
::and an air-coil or so? I had several burns using such a circuit.

Just a centre tapped transformer with base bias winding, two resistors to=20
the bases, one tuning cap across windings, one electrolytic and bypass cap=

on power rail (25v). Secondary has  a resonance cap for fluros and a earth=
=20
separation  cap.

::The ballasts are less
::than 10 dollars, much less than sitting down and repairing costs

Unfortunately these ballasts have to run standard 15W 8" fluros and the=20
equipment is government controlled, therefore no substitutions can be made=
=20
outside manufacturers modules or those approved by the regulators.
