This gets into the realm of Network Attached Storage: NAS. Fundamentally
the disks would be attached to a network file server of some type and the
multiple servers would access over the network. Physical channels Gigabit
ethernet, FibreChannel, and InfiniBand, with logical commands using iSCSI
for example.
