I have a T2i which is almost exactly a year old for me.. I'm a bit of a=20 Canon snob, so when it went on sale last christmas-time, I snapped it=20 up. Of course there's been a (ahem)few dollars spent on lenses since=20 then. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos550d/ 18mp, APS-C, full-HD (1080p@30fps). Noise figure looks a bit better=20 than the D3s (if I'm reading the charts right). But not a full=20 professional body, but definitely more than I need, and in many cases=20 much nicer than some of the old professional bodies.. It is VERY nice=20 to be shooting a SLR again.. On the other hand I do wish I could find something smaller for me to be=20 able to pack around more like a point and shoot while still retaining=20 enough control over the camera that I can actually take 'photographs'=20 instead of 'snapshots'. A lot of the time when I'm traveling by air or=20 light, I just can't fit the SLR in, so I through a $200 point and shoot=20 digital camera in, and although the results are somewhat acceptable, it=20 just isn't the same. -forrest On 12/19/2011 9:49 AM, RussellMc wrote: > I just acquired one of these > > http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonyslta77/ > > Sony A77 SLTa. > > In many ways it matches or exceeds the capabilities of Olin's D3s. > > http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond3s/ > > 12 frames per second, 24.4 megapixel, internal GPS, 1080p video, sweep > 2D and 3D panorama, HDR by combining 3 images, low light low(er)noise > by processing 6 imaages, Pelucid semitransparent fixed mirror allowing > phase AF and continuous AF during videoing, > Stunning 2.4 million pixel electronic EVF (eye level viewfinder) so > good that youbrain (mine anyway) refuses to remind you that this > should be an optical and not electronic path. > > But, in the way that counts most for me with cameras, Olin's D3s beats > this one to a pulp.
