I just opened an MPLAB-8 workspace file in "X" and it was no major problem. X creates a new subdirectory with all X-specific stuff and do not tuch any "8" specific files. One thing that was not converted correctly was the "ignore case" setting in MPASM. Easy to re-check... When entering a map filename (why isn't the main source file name also the default MAP file name ?) I had a few crashes in a "rm" tool ("remove", aka "delete") before the project rebuilt cleanly. It was weird, "Build" complained that it could not rebuild P16F690.INC and "Clean and Build" crashed a few times. Then suddenly it built OK. I don't know why, it *could* have been when I changed the map filename from "abc" to "abc.map") . But apart from that it worked nicely. :-) And it *does* have PICkit2 support now, the beta's didn't, right ? Jan-Erik.
