Hmm, names that come to mind don't list anything in a real quick search. Google likely knowns... I did a google search on custom usb cable whereupon google suggested adding the word length as a suffix. Many hits. Third one down (chosen on a whim) http://www.usbfirewire.com/custom/Custom_USB_FireWire_Cable_Design_Tool.h= tml I asked for a USB A male straight to USB mini-B male straight with a 30' cable in between. (Tool warned me that it violated USB spec.) Lots of options. Price was $50 for onesies. Might be able to put 2 conductor heavier-gauge power-only wire between as special order -- wouldn't hurt to ask. Second: Digi-Key sells USB connectors and cable. (I have laptop coolers that were Fry's clearance items; they get their power from USB a cable; all the USB power cables have failed (thus why they were cheap & on clearance); I've rebuilt cables with parts from Digi-Key.) The manually soldered & manually assembled USB connectors aren't as nice looking as molded ends, but they work OK. My use was also power-only. Hopefully, your product doesn't pull a lot of current. Are you going to up the wall wart's voltage to account for voltage drop in the cable? Or do you have a regulator inside the product? Or you could run 30 feet of 2-conductor 12-gauge wire between the USB connectors. Just things to think about. :-) Lee Jones --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
