Was thinking of something similar last week. As part of a project
I'm making polyester resin parts using silicone molds. One of the
parts is to mate a cable with an odd-shaped receptacle and the
thought occured to me that it would be easy to make connectors
by embedding pins/sockets into resin. Polyester is pretty tough,
although it's not the best to tap, but threads or nuts can be added
to the mold if a backshell style was needed
