I have a similar problem in that I want to read the contents of a NAND flas= h device being used as the mass storage of an embedded Linux device. My thoughts have been to use a Microchip Explorer16 development kit availab= le to me, and put the chip on a plug on board containing a suitable TSSOP s= ocket. I have designed a PCB that I plan to get manufactured by Naked PCB a= s it would be a once use and then program up the Explorer16 to read the chi= p and transfer it to a host over USB. Any further manipulation of the dump = can then be done on the PC. I my case I expect the file system to be YFFS or one of the other similar L= inux file systems for FLASH. In the case of a USB stick I guess it could be= FAT32, for which there is plenty of documentation around, so it shouldn't = be too hard to read the dump once you have it. --=20 Scanned by iCritical. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
