As I say, parts which were already obsolete (and had been for some time) when I started with AVRs 5 years ago do still seem to be available. Bear in mind that the part at the top of the list mentioned above is the very first AVR and 14 years old. I should be very surprised if it wasn't possible to obtain the parts I'm using in 10 years time (and if not, I'd be even more surprised if there was much effort involved in porting code to a newer part).
