Its actually OK to keep several different MPLAB installations on the=20 same computer - BUT - you have to make sure that you install them=20 into separate directories. Microchip includes a utility to make=20 whichever version you want to use to be the 'active' version - I'm=20 guessing that the utility makes whatever registry changes are=20 necessary to allow the various debug tools to work with the currently=20 active version of MPLAB. I ** ALWAYS ** install each version of MPLAB into its own directory=20 right off the root of my D: partition. I use directory names that=20 reflect the version: Eg D:\MP876. I have yet to have a problem with multiple MPLAB versions peacefully=20 residing in the same computer system. The only hassle is remembering=20 to run that darned utility when switching between versions. dwayne --=20 Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax www.trinity-electronics.com Custom Electronics Design and Manufacturing --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
