Die area mostly. The Spartans are small, the Virtex's are big. Cost vs.
die area is not a linear relationship.

Also: Spartans are meant to be cheap, Virtexs are not, so there is a
factor of "what the market will bear".=20

The "big" chips: soon (as in, engineering samples in a few months), the
smaller chips, next year, is the last I've been told, at the earliest.
