Not as good as the solar charging desk lamp teardown, but I've been
wanting to see the guts of this one for a while. My wife won't let me
take my kids' lights apart. Can't wait until they are old enough to
want to take them apart themselves. Going to Ikea to get myself one
would be a last resort. :)

The simplicity of the PCB and components is surprising! It is my
impression that surface mount components assembled by machine are
cheaper once you get beyond the prototyping stage. Maybe not, as I
hear that Ikea is very strict about managing their manufacturing
processes to keep costs down.
