I often wished =20 for some simple PLD-like device in a low-pin-count package with some =20 'fixed' and buried functionality like these seem to have (counters, =20 etc), but the low-pin-count devices seem to be very 'one generic =20 macrocell per pin', and the embedded higher level functions don't show =20 up till you get to the high pin count parts.
