Since 1960s TV is 625 lines in a lot of the world, that's 768 x 576 in=20 square pixel progressive. 576 lines visible. Also with SD Digital TV the=20 US & Japan gets 720 x 480 but the 625 line world gets "short changed" to=20 720 x 576. As far as I'm concerned "minimum" TV resolution is 544 x 576. The 640 x=20 480 is only use to me in a window on a PC screen. Esp. if its 60fps or=20 30fps 60Hz interlaced. so I regard 640x 480 as US/Japan std TV quality+ but for Europe, Africa,=20 Russia, Australasia etc its "std TV -" as it's missing to many lines=20 and wrong frame rate. Lighting has 50Hz or 100Hz flicker. TVs are=20 generally 25fps except for some HD models. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
